# LLI Legal Operations North Star

LLI's guiding principle and framework for Legal Operations initiatives and projects. A combined and comprehensive overview on the main areas that need to be managed for Legal Operations.

## People

While technology and process improvements are important, it is the people who use the technology and drive the processes that ultimately determine the success of Legal Operations initiatives.

Overall, people are a critical component of Legal Operations, and success in this field requires strong collaboration, communication, and relationship-building skills.

## Process

Legal departments and law firms often have numerous complex and time-consuming processes that can be streamlined and optimized to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

In addition to streamlining existing processes, Legal Operations also works to develop new processes Overall, processes are a critical component of Legal Operations, and success in this field requires strong process management skills, as well as an ability to analyze and optimize complex workflows.

## Technology

Legal departments and law firms have traditionally been slow to adopt new technologies, but in recent years, there has been a growing recognition of the importance of technology in optimizing legal operations.\
\
In addition to implementing new technologies, Legal Operations professionals are also responsible for managing and maintaining existing technology systems. This includes overseeing the implementation of upgrades and updates, troubleshooting technical issues, and managing relationships with technology vendors.\
\
Technology is an important field of Legal Operations and success in this field requires a strong understanding of legal-specific technologies, as well as an ability to identify new technologies that can help to drive improvements in legal operations.
